I purchased this at Best Buy before I saw that my preferred Amazon had it in stock.

Irregardless, this is an excellent sleeve for the Fire. The fit and finish of the stitching and materials is of very high quality. Much more padded than you would think from the pictures. The inside material feels very velour like and will definitely pad and not scratch your device. The closure is with one long "female sided" velcro, with three 1.25" "male" velcro strips. More than enough to keep the flap closed, even under situations where the flap is being pushed/pulled in a gym bag or purse.

Overall, this sleeve easily gets FIVE stars. Awesome quality of materials, great design and the inside of the sleeve could not be more luxurious. Buy with extreme confidence that this sleeve will protect your device securely and safely.

1. Sadly, it's not too good.
I've been a big fan of Timbuk2 products for years now, going back to the original Commute laptop messenger, to the Commute 2, to my current Timbuk2 Command, Timbuk2 Nylon Kindle Envelope Sleeve, and I even carry a Timbuk2 Bifold Wallet.

So, I know Timbuk2 products pretty well. And this one just doesn't cut it.

Curiously, the packaging doesn't identify the sleeve as a Kindle Fire product. It does carry a "Made for Kindle" logo, but the packaging describes it as "Timbuk2 Slim Sleeve". Not a huge deal, since the Kindle Fire slides in perfectly.

The problem is the tiny strip of velcro on the sleeve. It's maybe 1.5" long by .25" wide, and leaves the top of the sleeve fairly exposed. On the Black / Gunmetal / Red sleeve, the top is the entire red...

2. Fits Keyboard Kindle
Great simple case, that not only fits the Fire, but also the newer Keyboard Kindle. If you do not want a larger case, but something simple, this Timbuk2 product is perfect (it's my third buy from Timbuk2, well made).

Perfect for the Kindle Paperwhite
This may be advertised as a Kindle Fire sleeve, but on Timbuk2's site it's billed as being a Kindle paperwhite sleeve also.
I wanted a thin low profile sleeve that I could protect my Kindle Paperwhite in when I throw it in to a backpack or messenger bag. I didn't want a folio type thing, I just want to take it out and read, then put it back for protection when needed. I looked around and couldn't find anything else that seemed to be better suited for my needs than this one. I've always been a big fan of Timbuk2 products and own a lot of them.

The Kindle paperwhite slides in perfectly. There's a tiny bit of extra room no doubt to accommodate a thicker Kindle Fire, but it's not so much that the peperwhite moves around. It does fit nice and snug.
It has some padding and a heavy nylon fabric for protection which should be more than enough to keep it projected from other things in a bag. When the velcro is closed it closes the end to a nice flush closure so...

Finally after almost a month, I got an e mail from Service Net telling me what is in the service contract. When I purchased the service, I was promised an e-mail with the contract details attached immediately with a hard copy to follow by US mail. I still haven't gotten a copy via US Mail as promised. I have had to send three e mails to Amazon and Service Net to get this far. This was supposed to be part of a Christmas present to my wife, with her new Kindle and I wanted to include a copy of the service agreement with the gift. This has not been a pleasant experience dealing with Service Net. I came very close to sending the Kindle back and cancelling the service contract. Hopefully we will never need to use this contract if it takes this much effort just to get a copy of the contract. I have bought many items from Amazon and their service is excellent, however, this subcontractor I feel has not done a good job and I am not the only one who has had this problem.

Great BUILT quality!
BUILT products are known for being high quality and this neoprene Kindle sleeve is no exception. This case fits my device like a glove yet isn't difficult to remove, thanks to the contoured shape and textured grip towards the bottom of both the front and back of the sleeve.

The Summer of Love print on the exterior is adorable. The interior is lined with a blue fuzzy lining which is reminiscent of faux fur. With this soft, plush lining I don't need to worry about scratches occurring from sliding the device in and out of the case.

Like other BUILT products I've owned, this one is made with a decent thickness to it so I feel confident that my Kindle is protected. This case is exactly what I've come to expect from the BUILT brand. Excellent all around.

I love DecalGirl products and have used the decals on other devices with great success. The designs are super-cute and look just like the photos shown. I find the decals easy to apply following the manufacturer's directions. It's important to start with clean hands and a clean device. I don't usually get the decal positioned exactly right on the first attempt, but that is not a problem as the decals are easy to reposition. Then, once pressed firmly in place and the air bubbles removed, the decal sticks without peeling or lifting until removed. I have a tendency to "pick" at the edges of the decals while using my devices, and the edges always press back down into place. The decals protect the device surfaces from fingerprints, dust, scratches and superficial dings, although they are not meant to be a case nor will they protect like a case. This decal, for the Kindle Fire HD 8.9, fits perfectly and has the appropriate cut-outs for the camera, flash, and speakers. The back was in three...

I got this cover for my Kindle Paperwhite and it fits perfectly. I read some of the other reviews AFTER I bought the cover so I was worried after seeing people said it's flimsy and doesn't fit the Paperwhite. I think they may think their Nook is a Kindle and that's where the "fit" problem lies. The only way this cover could fit the Paperwhite better is if it were physically part of the device. As for the flimsy part, the "spine" is flexible which allows you to tuck the cover behind the Kindle while you read. Which is awesome. Ok, it's a little flimsy but how durable do you really need a Kindle cover to be? The stretchy straps that hold the device are tan (not black as pictured) but really, this isn't a problem outside of diagnosed OCD or people who are enraged that they were misled by the picture. Usually when I read, I don't want to have my Kindle in a cover, but I was looking for something less bulky than a sleeve to carry my Kindle around in and I wanted something that I'd be able to keep it in while reading if I was out of the house or in a car... something like that. I was looking for something that I could easily slip my Kindle in and out of, but something that would also be secure for when my Kindle is actually in it. A friend of mine got the new sleeve for the Kindle Paperwhite and when we tried to take it out it was very difficult. After looking at numerous covers on Amazon I eventually decided to order it and I'm glad I did. It's exactly what I was looking for! I also love the cute designs that it comes in. If I ever need to order a new cover, I will definitely look at one of these again.

Love the Punchcase!
I bought this Punchcase for my Kindle Fire because I loved the design -- so original. When I received it I was so pleased to find that it is very well constructed. It's really sturdy and I know it will protect my Kindle from my 5 and 6 year old kids who are sure to drop it on the floor. I also like that the elastic straps that hold the Kindle in place are nice and snug. The straps are rubberized on the inside so the Kindle doesn't slide around at all I love that it has a built-in stand for watching movies.

Received this Kate Spade cover for my fire yesterday and just love it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other covers but it's so stylish. The cover is very light and thin and fits the fire snuggley and securely. There is no stand, pocket or snap closure but for me, the stylish element is more important. Fits nicely in my purse to cart around. Love it!

I got this cover for my brand new Kindle Fire. Though I really like the print, it seems to be made of cheap material. Mine had a bunch of bubbles in it and for what they charge for it, I thought it could have been made better and of higher quality materials. I returned mine and bought one from our local Best Buy. True, it's just basic black, but it is genuine leather and made much better. Very disappointed that I couldn't have a fashionable cover but it's what's inside that matters, I guess.

1. Awful experience for magazines
1. Installs as an app instead of in the newstand, which is VERY inconvenient.
2. Requires you to login with userid/pwd EVERY time you want to read or download an issue
3. False errors when attempting to download. I have 2gb availble on my 6gb Kindle Fire, and it said insufficient disk space to download my very first issue! I sent an email to them about the issue, which was not responded to. After a couple days, it did finally start downloading (who can guess why it worked that time). Size of a single issue well over 100mb!!!!! Haven't they heard of compression? If you move off the page (perhaps to do something else on your Kindle during the long download), the download in progress is lost, and it starts again from scratch, so basically you just have to sit and wait.
4. Once it finally downloaded, the app wouldn't open it.

Have the exact same issues with Wired magazie, which is also a Conde Nast magazine that installs as an app instead of in the...

2. You can do better, and it wouldn't be hard.
Oh, for the love of god, let it remember my username and password! Should it really be necessary? It's not like this thing launches missiles or anything. If you think it's not a big deal to retype my password, well, some of us don't use "abc123" for all our password needs.

Overall, very pleased with just a few minor issues
After reading the numerous negative reviews for this app, I was hesitant to try it, but given how much I enjoy the occasional print copy of The New Yorker that I get, I had to give this a try.

The good news is that the most frequently mentioned problem seems to have been fixed --- Since installing this app and getting The New Yorker subscription started, I have not had to re-enter my user name and password beyond the first time.

As for this periodical being under APPS vs the Newsstand is really a non-issue with me, since I use the Kindle Fire's carousel to access most of my media.

The first issue downloaded smoothly, and did not take an excessive amount of time (a minute maybe).

The content is well laid out and easy to read. Navigation is easy (but see #4, below).

A few minor issues that had me give this app 4 stars instead of 5:
